ESR’s weekly measles surveillance for the week ending 13 December shows 11 confirmed cases including 6 new cases in the Auckland Region.
In the past week, cases have been confirmed for Northland, Waitemata, Counties Manukau, Hawkes Bay and Capital and Coast DHBs.
There have been 764 hospitalisations for measles nationwide for 2019, including 176 for children under 12 months of age.
The national total of measles cases for 2019 is now 2168 confirmed cases of measles notified across New Zealand. 1721 of these confirmed cases are in the Auckland region.
